Well I couldn't manage to read .stl ((((

Concerning to scaling - I think it wouldn't help cause I don't need to enlarge the WHOLE wheel but its COGS (teeth) only. In order to make the model "more wooden like exterior". Like this. So I suspect that it would be completely new file, recalculated by your software. So I mean the same wheels' sizes with cogs (teeth) enlarged twice. If it's possible, of course.

:)

You can scale them if you wish, so long as you scale both equally. But heres
a couple of larger ones..

Art, I don't want to be impudent, but...

Would you please to reduce the number of teeth in favour to their size? I mean that 4.5 mm of height for WOODEN (apple tree) coge is a bit smaller than I want...

Would you please to make them of 8 .. 10 mm in their height? I feel terrible sorry for I haven't specified the exact sizes from the very beginning...

Art...

Amaizing.

That was exactly I wanted. )) I think my best "thank you" will be soonest presentation of my project's rude physical expression RIGHT HERE. Based upon your kindest and absolutely free samples!

TO BE CONTINUED. ;)

ps: My KOMPAS understood .dxf just perfectly... I didn't know it to be such a smart thing... o_0

Hi :

Well, I dont do PDF's but you should be able to find a connverter. (Id check with the laser people, unusual
to see a laser that wont take DXF's....

  Alos, I dont convert lines to curves, points are more accurate, so GM stys in points..

But, heres a triangle running on a square...

Thanks a lot Art! ))

But after almost sleepless night of mindstorming )) I came to conclusion that pair of DIFFERENT (in size) SQUARE cogwheels working in one gear, with each other - is absolutely impossible option. Only equal in size, shape and cogs' number will run properly. Two specimens of the same square wheel.

I.e. - ordinary ROUND cogwheels only, not square, can compose cogwheeled reductor or multiplicator. ((

And I will be really happy, if I'm wrong...

All in all - let me convey to you the set of local lasershop's requirements:

- the file(s) must be in .pdf (at least in .cdr);
- all objects are converted in curves;
- wireframe mode test must be applied (no excessive overlaid elements found);
- no fillings, no pourings
- all lines are hairlines (minimum thickness)

Thank you! ))

Kindest request for sample CAD file for laser cutting machine

by schabanow » Thu Mar 03, 2016 6:36 pm

Hi guys!

I'm just not sure if it will be useful for my nearest future' project so I can't afford full license of commercial gear making CAD software FOR NOW. Now I just like to ask if someone of you can make for me a (free) sample - a CAD file of cogwheeled gear consists of two SQUARE cogwheels (perhaps even TWO files, not one) which quantities of teeth relate as 1/2, in order to cut them out on laser plotter? Square is about 50 mm of pinion and 100 mm of driven gear.

Thank you!
