I've never been able to get recording to work, in either GM or GT. I have a "Sel Codec" check box that won't check, and clicking Rec gets "Unable to create compressed stream: Check your CODEC options". This computer has been complete rebuilt in the last couple months, other than the case and storage, plus a Windows 10 reinstall (keep files, trash apps) to go from 32 to 64 bit (couldn't get the 16GB of ram to work otherwise), and the same symptoms persist. It creates an empty .avi file. This machine was upgraded from W7 Pro 32b to W10 Pro 32b with the AMD internals, then the reinstall to W10 Pro 64b. The graphics went from an AMD HD5450 (and originally an onboard nvidia something) to whatever's inside this i5 6500. Intel HD 4000? So many gips and gflops I can't count that high.
Snapshots generate a blank .jpg, the one I just tried was 14.2KB but displays as a blank white rectangle.
I haven't missed either one so I haven't complained. I don't think I've tried them on my (replacement) laptop (W10 Insider 64b, i5-5200U). It's two floors up, if I remember I'll try it the next time I hike upstairs.
