That's cool for a gear cutter, but in the case of a timing pulley how are you going to mill the tiny radius where the major diameter meets the groove. Seems to me that's a critical area of the pulley; and it's the part I can't grind by hand, or even on my tool and cutter grinder. With a square tool in the lathe it would be easy.
(5th axis could do it, cut with the bottom corner of the mill.)
