Russ;

Thanks for the bug report, will add it to the "to be fixed" list. We will post results once the outcome is rectified over the next few weeks.

Cycloid shaft size problem

by Russ L » Mon Jun 03, 2013 4:04 pm

I originally brought up the following issue as a question in the Gear Discussions group, but it appears that this is bug issue so I will resurrect the discussion in this group.

The problem seems to apply only to cycloid gears. The nature of the problem is that incorrect shaft diameters are generated by the program. If a different shaft size than previously used is entered while developing the gear train, the program will continue to use the size of the previously generated gear.

The only solution that I have found is to change to a spur gear and generate the gear. That gear will have the correct shaft size. Deleting the spur gear and regenerating it as a cycloid gear will then result in that gear having the correct shaft size. This is a workaround, but very inconvenient.

I am using version 4.89 and English units.
