John:
>>can't see how you change a gear through once it's on the projects page.
You cant as yet. Its basically the same as GM in that regard. Youd have to delete that gear and replace it.
>>right clicked a gear and selected strip teeth just to see what it did . It stripped the teeth !!
LOL..yes, as it says. Its used when one wants to have a disk with spokes in it. ( I get that request quite often.)
or to show as a spool or whatever.
>>Couldn't put the teeth back on though.
Well it oes warn you of that.
>>Also couldn't change a gear from say 14 teeth to 15 without deleting and staring all over.
Very true, at least for now. It will be coded in the end to allow such things, but as in GM, changing a gears size screws up
hundreds of things internally, its now do-able in GT..but I haven't as yet coded it.
>>Can't delete everythin g of the projects page, get left with one gear that is then hi lighted in red. then can't add anything to this gear at all and have to bail out.
I cant repeat that one yet. You DO have the icon on the top for "new project" dont you? Just press that icon, all gears will disappear.
If you NEED to change one gear it can be done ... you delete the gear in question, make a new one and mesh it to the one the old gear meshed to
then add a link to the new gear to make it drive what the old one drove. If the gear you added is larger, just select the one it drives and press "Move on gear", it will then update everything to fit again.
Thats all hard to explain, so Ill do a video of the process so you can see it..
