Hi:

Glad to hear, Ill check to see if I can error that..

>>o, is "send to workbench" going to work like the GM function that sends the gears back to the drawing board so you can modify them?

Yes. The workbench will become the top of your cnc device, you can drag items around, have multiple copies and generate many toolpaths at once.
In the end it will also show a simulation. Then a 4th axis simulator will be done as the workbench theory doesnt tie in well with 4th axis. A second type of workbench will be the CAD bench to be done last which will allow interactive creation of objects and figure out things like mating gears to a drawn shape, or interferance angles in a rotation..perhaps some way to design your own escapements.. whatever my poor head can think up. :)

Thats the plan, cant say how it will work out. I guess we'll find out together soon...

I figured it out.  You can put more numbers in the clearance % than it shows, and if the number is bad (25.00.3) then nothing happens.

Also, is "send to workbench" going to work like the GM function that sends the gears back to the drawing board so you can modify them?

Hi:

You do have to use a fairly large value, dis you try typeing in 20% for example to see the effect?

After cutting out a set of geneva gears I noticed they took a little bit of work to make them mesh smoothly.  The pin is just too tight.  I tried setting the clearance to various values and I am not so sure it does anything.  Version 2.00800, with a 12 tooth cross gear and a .25 inch pin.
