Thanks.

My issue wasn't that I needed extra strength with a wider face, it is those little peaks, which don't 3D print well.  I originally was going to edit the .stl files and try and stretch them, but it was easier just to slice at the round face.  So I needed to add some width back.

Hi:

There is a specification, both in gleason and non-gleason bevels that the facewidth be less than or equal to 1/3rd of the cone distance.
This is why the facewidth setting stops working above a certain setting.

However, it seems it shoudl be more of a "caution" than a rule, so I have this morning relaxed it for the next version. You will now
be allowed to specify a facewidth to 90% of the cone distance. (Im not a huge beliver in ruls unless they impact usage and I dont
think in this case they do..

Thx for pointing this out, amazingly I had myself noticed this earlier this week.. so your letter reminded me to check into it..

Can the face width of a bevel (helical) gear be set?

There is a field for it, and it is displayed in the list of parameters when a gear is placed, but the actual gear doesn't change.

Picture attached in case my terminology is incorrect.
