registration pins

Hi Art,
you gave me the instructions on how to make indicators and spokes - which I can make happen.  My question is about making registration holes for stacking gears.

I normally cut all my gears from 1/4" baltic birch and am really happy with what I can do.  When I apply spokes to one of my creations - they scale to match the gear I'm going to cut.  What I would like to do is have a hole in the spokes that is a fixed diameter regardless of the actual gear size.  That way I can make a 1.5" spur that is accurately positioned relative to a stack of 1/4" gears and thus produce a really strong and "thick" gear.

In the case of a clock I would want to do that on both the great wheel as well as its matching spur.

This is a "would be nice" item.

John
