HI Dan,

Actually I printed up a set of spur gears yesterday with just PLA filament.  I had to bring the dxf into my cad (haven't learned how to use Vexx) and added the solid to the axle hole on the two drivers. Saved the STL and brought into Cura for slicing and then sent it on to the printer. Went 1:2:1:2:1:2 for a 16:1 reduction using two axles.  Printed a case and tested with a power drill.  Darn if it didn't work really well!  Huge torque.  These cheap printers are getting pretty good.

Today I am printing up a few XL pulleys for a project I have in mind. 40 RPM so not going to generate a lot of heat.  Keep having to add the solid for the D-shaft each time.  Could save a lot of time if I could just output the STL from GT.

I second that. But it would probably only be used for laser cut d shaft holes. I guess with a small bit you could get it close then file the corners.

Would like to see a D shaft option.  Nice for printing gears as a driver.
