Re: Save locations

I'd like to clarify my original comment. I would still like more control over where project files are saved but I just learned from Art that project (.gth) files need to be saved in C:\Gearotic Motion
(or a subdirectory under that). This is probably old hat to most users on here but I'm new and didn't know.

Save locations

In the scheme of things this is pretty trivial, but I would like to suggest that file save locations could be made more standard. Right now (Gearotic2 V 3.170000):
1) if you export a .dxf, the exported files go to the <Default Data Folder specified in Global Settings>/<Project Name>
2) if you save your project .gth file, you can specify the project directory
3) Summary Reports are saved to the <Project directory>/GearData/<Project Name>/Summary.txt

For my workflow, it would be an improvement if I could just say where I wanted each file to save. Just like you can for the project. Or an alternative would be that exported files also go into <Project directory>/GearData (without the additional Project Name directory). To me, this is a more normal way to handle file save.
