Thanks bob. It was interesting that the vining clcok on the lower right was created with gearotics and furthermore was the one that many ladies pointed out that they liked it best. Next best was the upper mddle one.

Re: Kinetic sculpture designed by Clayton Boyer
I recently built a kinetic sculpture called "Zinnia" from Clayton Boyer. For anyone interested in learning about another kinetic drive mechanism, I highly recommend looking into Clayton's commercially available plan. Without giving away secrets, a summary of my build can be seen here http ...

Re: Finally hooked up and running 2 axis..
Happy to hear it's on standoffs. When I had problems is was only running at 24V and there was a 5V circuit also. The way I found it was that I was measuing something with my dvom and and when I pressed down on the probes the reading changed. Sfter making sure it wasn't a loose part i measured the ...

I hope you got the pokey57 off that pink foam. It's usually anti static which means it conductive!!!!! Many years ago i was testing a circuit on a piece of anti static foam and I was getting erratic operations until it dawned on me that the foam was somewhat conductive. After replacing the foam ...

Re: Pokeys mapping pins correlation to the PCB connectors and pins.
Right now I am working with Mach3 pokeys 57cnc plugin. I figure that if I can understand how the pokeys mapping is related to the pins on the pcb I'll have an easier time with auggie. And it would be nice to know when mach4 turn is finally available.

Pokeys mapping pins correlation to the PCB connectors and pins.
I do have a pokey57CNC running directly with Mach3Mill. I also have it working with mach3turn to a limited extent.
The motors sound great. I have one on the bench and it sound like it running at a really high speed ~3000 rpm. really fast.
I used the 26pin IDC header marked db25 and it works fine ...

Hypocycloid 5th axis gearhead
My friend, Bill Wainright, designed and built a near zero backlash gear head for a servo motor that he has made for his DIY 5 axis machine. While it is not made from gearotics he did use a plugin for Cambam and solved some of the problem with it and with making a smooth running hypocycloid gear box ...

4th axis harmonic drive
One of my customers sent me one of those Chinese 4th axis harmonic drive chucks. It has a 50/1 ratio. He had me install a servo motor to match up with the 4 axis servo control unit I was building for him. I tested the system and was pleasantly surprised that there was no backlash or spring in the ...

Re: 3D laser engraving
If you can get it to work on 3D topographical objects i think you will make a million. I have a friend that makes jewelry boxes on his 5 axis homemade machine and he is interested in laser engraving on various domes and other shaped objects. When i looked into 3D laser engraving I could only come ...
