I'll give it a shot, if you want.DanL wrote: eps is a vectric drawing file not NC, it's the only program I have seen use .eps as a drawing file. if you post the files in a zip some nice person may convert them to .dxf or cut files

Art,
I had no idea where to put this or even what to name it, but this seemed like the best fit.
Over the last couple of months, I have been building an OpenBuilds OX. I have everything complete except the router. It cuts air like a champ and is much faster than I thought it would be. It's ...

Art,
I know I can get them to sit still that long individually, but it may be difficult in multiples.
She has taken several pictures of them all, but not arranged the way she wants. I have no problem breaking them up.
She got married in October and her husband is a vet, also.
Between them, they ...

Art,
That is GREAT. I'm building a CNC router and I've spent the last couple of weeks looking for software that will do exactly this without costing an arm and a leg.
I'm building a grandfather clock for my daughter, who is a veterinarian. I want to make some raised panels for the base that have ...

Re: Welcome to Tickers..
Try this site. I've had fairly good luck with them. You tell them the file name and they email the converted file to you.
You can register with them, but you don't have to.

By the way, if you send them a file with multiple pages, they send back individual ...

Art,
I can't wait for that one.
I've made some similar celtic knots in CAD.
Works really well on my laser.
I've seen a lot of people that couldn't sit still, but nobody....NOBODY...has it as bad as you do.
Good for us, hopefully not bad for you.
Thanks for all of your hard work.

Re: Laser or CNC?
I bought a 40 watt Epilog Legend 36EXT. I read about every different brand I could find and none offered the quality, customer service and useability of this one. I could've gotten by with a 24" x 18" model, but this one is 36" x 24" and I use the 36" width quite often. Once I determined what brand ...

Re: Laser or CNC?
CNC machines and lasers are two completely different animals. I looked at both several years ago and decided that a laser would be much more versatile for what I wanted to do.
Lasers will do some things that CNC machines will do, but CNC machines do mostly things that lasers won't even think about ...

Re: Lantern gear pinion question
JD,
I'm not an expert, but I'll try to help. It looks like your calculations are correct. The only issue that I see is that 5.7295 is the diameter of the gear, not the diametral pitch.
The spacing of the teeth on a gear is indeed along the circumference, so in your case, it is 1.5". Also, since ...
