Thanks. Yeah it's amber, I had some scrap acrylic laying around so I though I would test it with that first, But I think wood definitely looks better.
Although its time to start getting ready for bazaar season, I thought maybe some dancing elves, or a couple of reindeer and a sleigh on the veins ...

It still needs a little work. But I don't think that it turned out to shabby.
