Constant force spring
I am going to purchase a constant force spring 2.5kg cm
What is the calculation required to work out what weight this is equivalent to ?
Assuming it is related to the drum size the weight is wound on
Just trying to get a feeling of what I will be able to drive with this
Ian

Re: ticker prototype
still having fun I think
added some simple arms
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTWIHosYgN0
as you can see only get about 90 deg swing from each impulse !!
still think I need more power from each impulse
No sure which of options 1-5 to try first maybe a mixture of them all

Would like to get more spins per flick !
Are these possible solutions to this ?
1 increase the weight ( would rather not do, feel 2lbs is enough)
2 reduce number of teeth on chrono ratchet ( make the flick last longer )

Re: Backlash
Found out why I got binding gears the width in circular gears is not remembered
eg set it to 0.48 go non-circular return to circular and it is set back to .5 !!
similarly width in non-circular is not remembered !
Also resets to .5 if exit program next time I run GT
A bright side this has shown ...

Backlash
i have just laser cut some circular spur wooden gears 2.5mm Mod and they bind a bit
Can solve the problem by bending the shaft a smidgen
Thought there was a way to add backlash but can't see it or remember
Using GT 2.29
Any tips or hints please
