Helical angles

Hi,
Wondering if meshing helicals can have different angles,
i.e. One gear with 30 deg and the other with 60 deg to achieve a 90 deg shaft angel.
GM lets me put in different angles but GT does not.
Hard to tell from the simulation whether they would work or not, would they ?

Re: correct code for master xu software?

Hi,
try Notepad++
its free and has many features for changing multiple entries,
and automatic line numbering etc.
I have found it very useful before.

bevels+

Hi, a couple of bugs,

If you reverse the orientation of a bevel its rotation reverses also, making it turn opposite to its shaft.
Changing colours of gears does not get saved.

Can escapements have there direction of rotation changed, not sure if i am missing it.

I still cannot take snapshots or ...

Pendulum

Hi,
Am i right in thinking that a pendulums working length is from its
pivot to its center of mass, rather than pivot to end.

Re: Helical question

Thanks for the answers,
on looking again more closely could not find my "imagined" gears,

But interesting to think that with the advances in 3D printing, many things
that we accept as standards, partly came about due to manufacturing limitations,
and now we need to go back and reinvent.

Helical question

Hi, just a little confused over helical gears,
Are there two ways to to make them ?.

I made a simplified image to show what i mean.

The top gear is what GT outputs, and has a sort of twist in the
teeth from rotating all the bottom by the same amount.

the bottom one everything is parallel, from ...

Re: New Version - 4.95 install

Thanks Art,
now having new problem, I think probably due to me doing thinks wrong,
after creating a train of gears I realised I had a link in the wrong place,
so i deleted the shaft hoping to then create a new shaft in the right place.
the old shaft is deleted, but the gears that were connected to ...
