Re: Ticker phase of clock project

Its the worry about whether it will work at all first, then putting the weight on and setting the beat. Then watching it tick and experimenting with pendulum bob weights. AND finding out that there's still a lot of finishing work to be done before it runs like it should.

The next phase is to get it ...

Ticker phase of clock project

I still have to envision the hour and minute sprockets and chains

Sorry about the sideways video, but I have it cramped into a corner

Re: Can't see a measurement when using Measure Icon

Nope, I'm just using the default fonts, BUT I had them at large.  When I moved to medium, then the dimension shows below the escapement in my design.

Sorry to have bugged you on this :(

Re: Can't see a measurement when using Measure Icon

I got back into my project, but I still don't see any measurement.  I can make the white line, which disappears as soon as I let go of the mouse button, but nowhere on the screen is any kind of measurement.  I can see the coordinates changing but that's it.

Re: Can't see a measurement when using Measure Icon

Hi Art,

Resolution is 1280 x 768, 32 bit.

Same result with small - I was using medium - same with large

Re: Can't see a measurement when using Measure Icon

What I see happening is the line draws, but as soon as you let the mouse button up, it disappears.  Tried it again today with latest development version.  Same with the undo in a different post.

Re: Undo deletes everything

Hi Art,

Nope, I just made up a sprocket, changed the arbor hole and saw that it changed, hit the undo tab and it totally disappeared.  I was watching a tutorial and that's why I tried doing the undo.

Undo deletes everything

Art,
I tried using undo instead of selecting and deleting.  It cleaned the entire screen instead of just removing the last operation.  I made a file and then I save after every operation, but that's kind of clumsy when I have to open the saved file again.

Re: The order which the tooth count is determined.

John,

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I'm going to start cutting sprockets this weekend.

I think that the "center" wheel is also the "2nd" wheel, so that one will need a longer arbor so I can make it turn the minute hand. Then, as tradition, an idler wheel running to the hour wheel. I'm not ...

Re: Can't see a measurement when using Measure Icon

Art,

Well, to be honest, getting the different windows up on the screen takes some repeated attempts, but I get all the other windows up. This is on the download from last night because I was thinking that I had an earlier version. I was trying to measure the boss of the gear so I would know how ...
