One of my future projects is to make an automated bullet re-loader and case trimmer for my brother.  You just made my life a lot easier.

The upgrade cost of Gearotic sure makes this company great!

Considering that sites like these are a goldmine for potential customers, I'm surprised companies such as Vectric don't post Extremely aggressive offers for first time customers. A $99.00 initial sale would spawn a ton of new customers ...

I generally use a sharp 2 flute high speed steel end mill.  2 flutes allow the chips plenty of room to evacuate.  Carbide has produced mixed results for me (usually poor).

I take heavy cuts in Delrin with a spindle RPM of 3000 at 60 inches per minute.

For me at least, the chips fly out nice and crisp (no melting) leaving a perfectly smooth finish.

Hence the different flavors of edge detection.

What I'm saying is to allow the user the ability to manipulate the result of the tracing routine after the fact.  This is where they all fall short.

Most of the tracing algorithms seem to use a series of very small lines which leave a nightmarishly difficult to cleanup jaggedy outline.
