Re: Linkage Mechanism designer and simulator.
Linkage is cool, but I think it lacks many features to control the mechanisms and get results such as velocities. The best one I know of is SAM mechanism designer, although not a freeware.

Non-circular gears theory
Hello,
Do you guys have book or paper suggestions to understand the theory behind non-circular gears? I know gear basics, but I'm trying to go the next step on studying gears. I would like to understand stuff as wheel order, eccentricity and how they affect gear aspects, such as pressure angles ...

Re: Planetary gear trains
No problem Art,
I imagine that it's probably more difficult to implement than one can imagine. Since you would have to add an option to keep gears from rotating and, depending on the project, the mechanism may become undetermined.
Although when you have to place the gear connected to another, you ...

Planetary gear trains
Hello there, I'm new to gearotic and its forum. I searched on the forum and I believe the most recent topic on the matter is from 2015.
Was there any update to gearotic to be able to make planetary gear trains? I mean to have gears out on moving arms and stuff.
I'm a mechanical engineer professor ...
