Re: Is Axis Mapping possible?

Thanks for the reply Art.

As I remember using Mach4 with my laser the issue lies with the continual M3 commands changing the Laser Power. Mach4 dec/accelerates at each M3S value change and the movement is quite jerky. In my naïve view, I will have to do some homework to see if I can map the Laser ...

Re: Is Axis Mapping possible?

Thanks Art. Good luck with your surgery! Hope all goes well.

Currently Auggie won't run on my machine at all. The Z axis won't move, X axis moves when it shouldn't and only 1 y motor will fire. The setup runs fine in Mach4.

Re: Is Axis Mapping possible?

Hi Art. Just stumbled across this post.

I re-configured my machine. Previously I jumped the second Y axis motor to the same driver. Under this setup Auggie worked.

Now I have a slave motor for the second Y axis and moved the mapping "out of numerical order" due to cable length from the stepper ...

Re: Understanding Laser Power Output

Thanks Bobby.  The big clue here is the output.  More research!  :o

Understanding Laser Power Output

Hi Guys,

I am having some trouble sorting out laser power settings.

My PWM maxes out at 400Hz.  So if I test the laser output using the FIRE button in Auggie and set the laser to 100%, I get 400Hz.  I also get 14V power output to the laser.

If I set the laser power to 50% using the ...

Re: POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10, DISCONNECTING..TRY AGAIN

Thanks for the info.

Makes a bit more sense now as I set the feedrate to 200% as I wasn't happy with the speed.  I'll make adjustments accordingly.

I connect to the POKEYS57CNC with a network cable, just FYI.

Re: POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10, DISCONNECTING..TRY AGAIN

Thought I'd show some progress.  I need to do some tuning work for the burn on the low side but not bad for a 3rd try after some testing / tweaking.  I used some maple veneer plywood I had laying around.

Re: POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10, DISCONNECTING..TRY AGAIN

Thanks Art.

It is less frequent now.  Seems to happen on Estop or Stop.  Can't quite place the reason.

I also seem something weird when I jog.  Sometimes when I jog X-- the machine just keeps moving even though I haven't asked it to.  It then crashes into the endstop ...

Re: POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10, DISCONNECTING..TRY AGAIN

Actually I get the communication failure when I fire the M3 command to activate the laser.

POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10, DISCONNECTING..TRY AGAIN

Hello All,

New Auggie user here  :)

I have an issue the shows the Error message in the topic title.  I use a POKEYS57CNC.  I can jog the machine and run GCODE.  However when I try to fire the laser manually I get this error message:

POKEYS FAILS TO COMMUNICATE WITH -10 ...
