Re: Save locations

I'd like to clarify my original comment. I would still like more control over where project files are saved but I just learned from Art that project (.gth) files need to be saved in C:\Gearotic Motion
(or a subdirectory under that). This is probably old hat to most users on here but I'm new and didn ...

Re: editing help

Hi Art,
You are correct. I was not saving my project in the C:\Gearotic Motion directory (or subdirectory thereof). That would never occur to me to save in the program directory. Wheew! I'm sure that's in the docs but I missed it. I think this should probably be in a future enhancement category but ...

editing help

Could someone please explain to me how I edit my gears after working on a newer project? Here is my scenario:

1) Create noncircular planetary gear and pinion with Wheel Order 4 and Pinion Order 2. All is good at this point.

2) Create a new noncircular planetary gear and pinion with different ...

Save locations

In the scheme of things this is pretty trivial, but I would like to suggest that file save locations could be made more standard. Right now (Gearotic2 V 3.170000):
1) if you export a .dxf, the exported files go to the <Default Data Folder specified in Global Settings>/<Project Name>
2) if you save ...

Re: Project Tree

Thanks so much Art! Killing the registry key worked and I'm back designing these funky (fun) gears.

All the best,
Bob

Re: Project Tree

I seem to be dead in the water. I can open previous projects with non-circular gears and the project tree view looks good, but I don't know any way to edit those. Is there a way?

I cannot create any new projects with non-circular planetary gears. Changing the number of teeth or changing the module ...

Re: Project Tree

First I opened up my successful project and the project tree looks good. But I can't go back to the "NonCircular Gears" tab because I must have accidentially saved on top of it and I don't see a way to get what is in the project tree back into the gear module. There doesn't seem to be a "Send to ...

Project Tree

Things were going well. I made my first project with non-circular planetary gears. But then I wanted to modify my design to use fewer teeth to compensate for some assembly slop. Now, every time I add my planetary to the project tree, the entire ring gear gets filled in with a solid color. And when I ...

Video record crashing

I'm a new user so perhaps I'm doing something wrong. Using Gearotic 3.17 and Windows 11 (up to date) I would like to create a video of the gear simulation. Choosing Media > Rec causes Gearotic to crash. I've used "See Codec" to try all the different codecs and they all crash gearotic. What am I ...
