Would a mod 2 work on the rather common T8-something 2mm pitch screws then? I'd assume the angle would have to change based on the number of starts but the pitch/mod should remain the same.

The reason an Acme should work is that its profile is basically a rack. It has a 30 degree angle
and its depth is unlike other threads in that its 1/2 pitch. So a helical spur at the correct helical angle
should mesh as a worm.. that all that post meant, its why I noticed the thread was wrong on the acme.
Im considering a worm gear addon for it though.
(Im a bit slow this week, had major system crash and am rebuilding. After a Win10 update
my harddrive suddenly was inaccessable.)
