Reverse Simulation Questions

Post by marklazarz »

It appears that when a Graham escapement is in a gear train, the reverse simulation check box has no effect, is that correct?  Also when the Ratchet object is selected the "Selected Prop" tab has 3 check boxes  under the heading Simulation Blockage Solution marked "Ignore/loop", "Stop" and "Reverse".  What is their purpose?

Hi Mark:

True , reverse has no effect, I felt at the time it was as easy to hit the perspetive switch in the plane selector to face the
train from the back, thus reversing it.

The blockage solution is for simulation of racks. When they hit their end, they can loop, stop, or reverse direction. :)

Hello,
Is there any way to reverse the direction of the scapement.
I've been trying both "Reverse Orientation" in the contextual menu over the Pallet and clicking the "Reverse" option in the simulation tab.
No luck so far...

Fixed!! Apart from the escapement, I reversed (Reverse Orientation) all the gears driven by the Ratchet and it works like it should.
I thought all the gears will change the direction of rotation just changing the driver, but they didn't.

Glad you found it, I know that interface is a bit awkward. Not very intuitive.

thanks Art,

it's not big deal do it manually, the program solve things much more difficult to deal with.

I would never been able to model all those gears in one day without Gearotic
