Well, I was facinated by some art by various artists using non intuitive shadow generators. My favorite
is Kumi Yamashita. Kumi makes objects that create shadows that the observer would find surprising. Similar
to a ticker in that they are kinda mesmerizing. It occured to me that software could create an object
that creates such shadows but from a starting point of a photo. The software could make a 3d object for printing,
or a dxf for cutting on laser ( or I suppose cnc..). There are many ways to do this, some lend themselves to
3d printing, some to laser or cnc for actual creation. So....since I want one to sit beside my ticker.. Im taking
some time to code up software to do it. Its only an experiment, you may never see it, but if it works I'll include
it as its own tab module. I figure at this point if I like it someone else out there will appreciate having it as well.
Look at his work here.. the actual genre is refered to as "Shadow Art", seems a no brainer for me to enter the field..lol
