Thanks Art. Figuring out what Vexx was took me a little noodling, but thanks to a forum search I got there. Add to that what you wrote about getting gears. It's actually quite interesting to be able to offset, add slots, array, etc. of the gears. As far as exporting as the lines from Vexx as a DXF, it doesn't work, (For me). AutoCAD says "Missing Default entry 0 in SymbolTable:LAYER
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded."

BUT! I don't care - because... I can export to an SVG from Vexx. This is what I need anyway and thought I needed the DXF as a stepping stone. I see what you're saying about the Bezier curves and segments. It messes with the joints. It's a much cleaner curve with all the little bits. I'll see if my laser or Origin care. I may just be overthinking this.

Hi Rick:

  In the option settings for vexx there is also a setting for DXF output type,
you may have better luck with the secondary option. If you dont see that option
make sure your using the development version, it has a dual type dxf output setting.
