I clicked on the AutoTrain button, and it said it needed to do some calculations and would be back in a minute.  I just got an error box saying...

c:\Program Files\Gearotic Motion Release\gprimes3.bin was not found.

The Gear Train Calculator then never shows any gear combinations.

Turns out it was a permissions problem.  GT tries to write to "c:\Program Files\Gearotic Motion Release" but can't.  I need to run it as administrator

Hi:

Ahh, right. The default install location is no longer Program files, unless you redirect it I think it goes to C:\Gearotic Motion\ which should allow the files.

That particular security issue is one of the dumber things they ever did...

What happens if you find Gearotic Motion Release in the file manager, right click on it, select Properties, then the security tab, and add Full Control permissions for your user account?  It'll take administrator permissions to do it, of course.

IIRC everything in the Program Files directory creates a shadow file when changed; I think this was a consequence of a compatibility thing for .ini files, but it's been a while since I've looked at it.  Not sure if that would cause a problem.
