Thanks Ya-Nvr-No
I just can't put it down. I stare and stare and keep thinking to myself. It just can't be done, I know it can't be done, but there it is. Thanks again Art for not holding back the code. I think, just maybe Art is thinking the same thing, "it just can't be done". It's going to church with me tomorrow. There will be some guys there that will be very impressed! A couple of weeks ago I gave a short talk in which I quoted Art. And said when was the last time you did something that impressed yourself?

Here, too, until just recently. A good part of Feburary (I know, not spring...) was -20F at night, new outdoor wood boiler was eating a full cord a week.ArtF wrote:Coldest spring I think Ive ever seen.. ..
Although we must just be imagining it, saw recently that so far 2015 is the hottest year on record.

Re: Version 2.298 online.
The replacement laptop (Lenovo G50-80 with an i5-5200U) came yesterday, with 64 bit Windows 8.1 and a built in webcam (IDs as Lenovo EasyCamera). Using that camera, and 2.2987, I tried a couple different shots, one at 320x240 YUV2. another at 640x480 YUV2, and created stl files from both with a bit under 80K vertices. Both stl files had holes and gave very weird results (top surface all horizontal triangles) with slic3r 1.2.6. Netfabb basic fixed them without any problem and slic3r seemed to work fine. Netfabb's a pretty handy stl file checker and fixer and reorienter, and the basic version is free.
This is on a clean install of essentially everything, only the license file copied from another machine, fwiw.
Still haven't gotten it connected to the Printrbot, so nothing printed yet.

Slic3r's particularly picky about stl files with errors in them.ArtF wrote:Weird, I cant think of why that error is reported, mine are clean. VCarve loaded mine to day and I cut 2 ..

I suggest running a few files through netfabb basic; it's hard to beat for stl file checking.
I just tried a couple that I'd made on the quad core W7 desktop, with the LifeCam Cinema. They were error free, so perhaps it's related to using the Lenovo cheap camera. I did another one there, it had one hole. I'll switch to that machine and attach it.
