I built the CRP4896 Router 2 years ago (960 oz-in steppers with 3.2:1 reduction, Leadshine digital drives and a 3hp water cooled spindle..
it is very sturdy and has performed flawlessly...
I have about $6 grand invested.

Large plastic gears CNC cut from 1/2" Starboard..
The piece was a bit warped so they don't line up perfectly..
but mesh Ok..the square gear is just over 10" across..

If I saved as a dxf and run it thru Cut2D it cut perfectly smooth??

Large Logarithmic I cut on my CNCRP 4896 ..
Cut from 3/16" Plexiglas.... overall dimensions are 20" x 16"...going to cut its mate tomorrow....

Turned out perfect...only problem was the TP direct from GM caused bad jerking when the teeth were cutting....had to slow from 120 IPM to about 40..

For some reason when I toolpath a non circular gear and run simulation or in Mach4 the tool pauses, raises up and then down in Z as it is makes every pass...

I down loaded the older version and it "cuts" properly...dropping the Z the proper pass depth as it goes around inside the gear ??
