Here s vid of one of the projects I've been working on called Dextrose. All the gears are laser cut with a 35deg pressure angle which allows smooth running (although the DXFs have to be trimmed for overlap). The whole head rotaion is a 2 gear chain, the neck is 4 gear chain giving the head side to side roll & the nodding is done viia a planetary gear.
