Different operation noted between windows XP and windows 7

Here is a screen shot of the spur gear selection screen under windows 7, 64 bit...
I tried it on my laptop with windows 7 32 bit and it looks the same. Notice there is no text on the working area.

Now below that is a screenshot of the same thing in win 7 under XP mode... text all over the workig area.

Same sort of issue when looking at components in the project itself. So it's OK in XP and note in win t any version.
