Sorry, Expired Version ???
Hi,
I had to change to a new PC and did not reinstall GEAROTIC for some time. Now I wanted to install the actual version, but I get "Sorry, Expred Version".
I am official user (license.dat uli huber).
Is my license no longer valid?
Any other possible reason?
Thanks
Uli

Thanks to all for the feedback on this issue, and Art for the fix. If you recently updated (last 2 days), you may have experienced message "Sorry, Expired Version", from that download. If you did, simply re-download form our web site and install once again , all should be fine. All other users will not be affected.
Cheers
Bob

I ran into the same problem when I tried to install my backed up copy onto my new WIN-10 laptop. I downloaded the newest version and it installed without issue but of course as an unlicensed version. vmax549 wrote: Thanks Bob , I was able to find it on one of the backup drives.

Thanks to this forum thread I went back to the old laptop and found the license file. Copied it over and now the replacement new laptop shows my license information.
Thanks Art and company.
Could I ask one question perhaps. Why does an older install program report expired version? Does it check the web? Or is there an expiry date inside the install file?

Re: Sorry, Expired Version ???
Hi John:
Unfortunately there was a version that had a flag checked to expire in 2020. That flag was set way back and I didn't realize
it was there. It has been removed of course, but some backed up installers will not install unless one rolls back the date.
